Volunteer Opportunities
The Coulee Council offers several volunteer opportunities. The most popular volunteer activities
are listed below, but we are always in need of help. Let us know what your skills and talents are
and we will put you to work! Call (608) 784-4177 if you are interested.
Drop-In Center
The Drop-In Center is kept open by volunteers. The Thomas E. Noelke Resource Center, located
in the lower level of Coulee Council on Addictions, is in need of dedicated volunteers. Our
mission is to provide a safe, social, and chemical free environment for people in recovery from
addiction. We are looking for dependable, and friendly people who can work a few hours each
week; cook and serve healthy meals, help someone write a resume, play a game with a child, or
just listen to someone who needs to talk.
Meeting and a Meal
Breakfast is served Monday through Sunday in the drop-in center for a free will donation. Each
Tuesday and Thursday at noon we provide a free meal after an open Alcoholics Anonymous
meeting. Volunteers help prepare food, serve the meal, and clean up after the meal.
Special Events
Each year, the Coulee Council organizes several special events. Some are fundraisers, and
some are events for the recovering community, like our Turned Leaf Festival. Volunteers help
plan the events by doing anything from finding sponsors to decorating to providing entertainment.
